Climats (Weather Patterns)

Born in 1961 in the Vendée region of France, Fabrice Hyber is a member of the French Académie des Beaux-arts and a major figure on the international art scene. For nearly forty years, the artist has developed a unique and overt body of work, with drawing, painting, sculpture and installation as the mainstays of his prolific output that explores the relationship between humans and the contemporary world in an unbridled dialogue between arts and sciences. From mathematics to biomorphism, encompassing the full range of environmental issues involved, Fabrice Hyber’s work helps to raise our collective awareness of the fundamental links between nature and humankind. As part of this anniversary year, Fabrice Hyber has been invited to occupy both the art spaces of the Musée de l’Abbaye Sainte-Croix – the temporary exhibition gallery, as well as the ‘Croisée culturelle’ art space – and the Saint-Jean d’Orbestier Abbey during the summer of 2024, thereby showcasing the work of an artist from Vendée, who is deeply attached to his roots.
